It’s Thursday, I have no idea where the time went or even what happened to the last four days that flew by like no tomorrow. Why do things go so quickly? It’s not like I’ve been having fun or anything, I’ve just been so busy with work that I forget what day it is. Something about this weekend screwed me up and I spent the last few hours (before I actually looked at the calendar) thinking it was Friday afternoon and not Thursday afternoon. Yes, I do get an extra day to clean before the houseguest shows up but this doesn’t mean that I won’t still be in a rush to get other things done before hand.
I’m doing good with my diet, I’m sticking to moderation and not over eating before I go to sleep. I had a yogurt and some juice for breakfast, a few pretzels for snacks and now I’m working on my third glass of water. I’m leaving the house in a little while (if Sean ever gets out of the shower) and going to pick up some things for dinner. I’m cooking sausage and peppers for dinner, I’m sticking to a family recipe but changing it up a little bit. Instead of frying up the peppers I’m going to steam them and the sausage is going to be split open and cooked on the grill to burn off a lot of the extra fat. I know it seems like a hearty meal to begin with but I’ve been craving it for quite some time and since there isn’t one real Italian resturant in the entire state of Delaware, I have to improvise.
There are people down here who swear up and down that Grotto’s is the best pizza around. Growing up in New York, you understand the importance of Italian culture and you also know what’s good and what isn’t. I walked past Grotto’s on the Rehoboth Boardwalk one night and I was appalled. It looked as though they put some swiss cheese and tomato paste on a paper plate. This offended me in so many different ways it’s unreal! So naturally I went looking for other places in hopes that someone would know a thing or two about REAL Italian cooking. The closest thing Sean’s found is a place called Bona, and he only likes it because the owner was originally in Jersey and they know a thing or two about pizza as well.
I happen to like this place called Louie’s that’s on the boardwalk. They could use a little work on their crust but their sauce/cheese ratio is much better than anything I’ve seen down here. The thing they don’t have on their menu, however, is Sausage and Peppers. I’m biting the bullet and just making my own.
I’m still dropping a little weight here and there, nothing major. I’m doing maybe two pounds a week which I feel is pretty healthy at this point. I’m surprised though, I’ve been doing a lot of running around and it seems I’m getting no where. I haven’t really walked in a few weeks. This is mainly because of how bad I’ve been feeling. I went from being sick to having my period and then my hip started acting up because I wasn’t actually exercising anymore - a whole series of annoyances that have effected me. I never consulted a doctor about anything before I went on my diet. I know my hip and back issues are based on the fact that not only am I just plain fat but I’m also sleeping on a horrible mattress.
I’m working hard on getting money together so I can get myself a new bed, Sean and I are cutting corners here and there so that we can get a bed that we so desperately need. I do paid blogging on another domain that’s making quite a bit of money for me. I was thinking of doing it here but I don’t want to buy a domain just to sell it out like so many people are doing these days.
I’ve seen people take archives of their paid posts off other domains and throw them onto their new domain and then start adding more crap on top of it just so they meet the minimum requirements of some sites. I find it completely absurd, and cheating the system at that.
