Packing again…

I found a new hosting service, I’ve spent the last few hours getting everything moved over.  Instead of going with a private cPanel for all of my personal domains, I’ve got everything housed under one domain. I still have two more to move but I was able to get the important 3 transferred over.  Krissy.nu, Krissyville.net and Curvy-Chick.net.  It took a little bit longer to find what I was looking for but that’s OK because I’m very, very content right now.  I can’t wait until the second account is setup so I can get all of my clients moved over as well.  Unfortunately that went through as an eCheck so there’s a bit of a wait on it, but by Monday I should be able to get back on track with things.  Come Wednesday everyone should be completely moved over and that’s just great for me.

As for dieting, I’m off the wagon.  I’m on Vacation in New York visiting family and anyone living in New York would know that the amount of yummy goodness in the air is enough to kick that dicipline out the window.  I’ve had pizza, I even broke down and picked up something from a local deli.  They have a fantastic turkey wrap that I just can not resist.  Yes - if it’s done right it’s healthy but you need the mayo, bacon, cheese, salt and pepper or it just does not taste right.  I have also blown through my budget for this vacation so I’m back to crunching on veggies for 5 meals a day and tonight I had grilled chicken with some light seasoning - partnered up with tons of veggies on the side so I’m very easily getting back on track - I just had to kick the wagon across the street for a couple of days.

I haven’t lost any weight since my last post, but I haven’t gained any either.  I’m maintaining my weight and that’s just as good as losing it.  I’ve gotten a few compliments since I’ve been up here - I haven’t seen a few of my friends in well over a year so they were definitely taken back when they stepped foot onto the porch.  All I need to do is lose another 40 pounds and I’ve completely met my goal of 100lbs lost.  Not too shabby - eh? 50% done!  I’m like a download - whee!

I’ve done it!

I don’t like to do a weigh-in every week because the overall progress isn’t too important to me.  I know right now that I’m doing very well on my diet, I’ve changed my life around and now I know that I can handle living this lifestyle.

I started on my diet a little over 1 year ago, since then there have been ups and downs and instances of falling off the wagon.  I’m happy to report that I’ve finally met my  second goal, it took me over a year but I’m now 60 pounds lighter than I was last year.  I’ve hit the 200LB mark and my third goal is to lose another 25 pounds and meet my overall goal-weight of 175.  Now, I know it seems strange to want to stop at a ‘high’ number but I’m not doing this to be super skinny.  I like being curvy - hence the domain name , duh?

I’m doing this to be healthy and I feel that I’ll be at my healthiest by getting down to 175.  Only 25 pounds to go, I figure by the end of the summer I’ll be able to enjoy my 24th birthday with amazing confidence in myself!

Upgrade

I finally got around to updating to Wordpress 2.5.  I was hesistant at first because I’m using it on a few of my other domains and I really don’t like it very much at all.  But since there are a lot of security fixes with it, I figured it was worth putting in the effort so I logged into my control panel and went through with the automatic upgrade.  While I was initially against using Fantastico on my servers, I’m kind of happy that it’s there now.  It takes a lot of stress off me for having to do manual upgrades for clients.  I can point them into the direction of their control panel and the rest is history.

I went out tonight to just have some alone time.  I wondered into Dollar Tree and landed some great deals on some items I use regularly.  I picked up a few boxes of tissues (2 for $1) and I loaded up on some carpet fresh too.  I also am in a decorating mood so I bought to small mirrors to hang up above the bed, I’m going to throw a picture up in between them and that will add some visual interest to the room.  The walls are so bland right now, it’s just a blue-grey wall color that’s got quite a few holes because the room I’m in used to be Sean’s office.  So when he took the shelves out of there he kind of just left the holes.  One of these days I’m going to get in there and fill in the holes, throw some paint over the spackle and then hang a few things up.  The rest is history really.  It’ll give me something to do, that always counts for something - right?

I’m still doing pretty well on my diet, I’m not losing that much weight anymore but I think I’ve hit the point where it’s getting harder to lose weight.  I did cheat one night but I don’t think a small slice of cake would really stop me from losing weight over the course of the next few weeks considering I burned off those calories that night at the gym.  I didn’t hit a brick wall - per say - but I have hit a wall and I need to figure out how to change things up a bit.

I’ve been looking into Gillian McKeith Detox Vegetarian Diet, where for 8 weeks you only eat vegetables and then slowly reintroduce good proteins such as chicken and fish.  I can’t do the fish aspect of things, I have a horrible allergy to it.  But I think the detox would work out pretty well.  I’ll pick up her book eventually, right now I really can’t afford it.  But, I already have a good balance of fruits, vegetables and whole grains as well as fiber in my diet, but her “detox diet” is nothing but all natural organic living.  It’s an idea that I threw Sean’s way but I think he’d only jump on board when it comes time to introduce grilled chicken salad into the mix.  I also don’t have the best of storage in the kitchen to house all of these veggies so I may hold off on it until after Sean and I have our own place.

For now I’ll stick to what I’m doing, I’ll just work out a bit more and introduce a 5th “meal” to my day to jump start my metabolism a little.  I typically have breakfast, a piece of fruit before lunch, a small lunch, another piece of fruit and then dinner.  Maybe if I introduce another slice of fruit into the day (probably as a dessert) I should be able to jump things up a bit more.

Worth a shot, right?

The Life Updates

I’m still going pretty strong with my diet. It’s hard to stick to something so structured when everything else in your life is in complete chaos, but when it comes down to it - the diet is the only stability I have at the moment.

I did slack off for a week, but I’m working just as hard on it now as I ever have in the past. I’ve been watching this show “You are what you eat!” it’s on BBC and I’ve found it to be very interesting. After searching around the Internet I was unable to find the detox diet that Gillian (the dietitian) puts these people on. I will wind up getting her book in the future, I know that much. But in 8 months using her plan you can lose up to 3 stone (42-pounds) and that 42 will put me on the path I’d like to go on, as well as give me the detox I need. I think that’s why my diet has been so slow, I never detoxed, I just cut back. I enjoy a diet of fruits and vegetables and I think her plan would give me exactly the right amount of things that I need to get it done the right way.

I got my license taken care of this past Monday so I can now legally drive in Delaware. My big thing is finding a car now, I found one in Jersey that I’d like to go pick up but unfortunately I don’t have the $9,000 at the moment. I have amped up the job search as well as my freelancing, I even shot a letter over to friends, clients and family with new “deals” for design. A lot of people I know have websites, and if I can repush the $30 deal, I should have no problem raising some money over time. I just don’t know how much time I have until the car is gone but I’m still going to keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.

I know…I know.

I haven’t updated in a while, I know.  Things have kind of gone full speed ahead for me lately and it’s hard to keep track of all my blogs.  I figured it would be easy posting on five but I guess I was wrong.

The diet is going well.  I’ve cheated a little but with my craving for coffee later I couldn’t seem to stop myself from going into Starbucks today.  It was just a treat to myself so I guess that counts for something.  Last night I enjoyed my grilled chicken but I put a little Parmesan cheese on it and sliced it up into a salad.  And that’s another thing I’ve been eating a lot of lately - chicken salad.  I bought a few cans of chicken from Walmart for Bella and wound up keeping two for myself to throw together with a little mayo and a lot of celery, onion and other fixings to make it tasty.  I’ve been snacking on it all week.

I haven’t gone out and purchased Micheal’s plan.  I figure at the rate I’m going I should be able to discipline myself enough to get the job done.  My big set back right now is the fact that I’m still smoking.  I’m not sure how well that’s going to effect me when I do finally quit for good.  I’ve heard on numerous occasions that those who quit tend to replace the need of hand-to-mouth with food instead of a cig and that would just be a big set back for me.  The thing is, I don’t want to go cold turkey and load up on patches or the gum because while it stops me from smoking it keeps me addicted to the nicotine which in turn would just be pointless.  At that point it’s cheaper just to smoke.  You’re spending up to $60 a week on Nicorette gum or anything else to subside the smoking feelings and when it turns into $240 a month and you’re still able to quit the $40 a month you were spending on a carton really starts to look much better to your wallet.
