I found a new hosting service, I’ve spent the last few hours getting everything moved over. Instead of going with a private cPanel for all of my personal domains, I’ve got everything housed under one domain. I still have two more to move but I was able to get the important 3 transferred over. Krissy.nu, Krissyville.net and Curvy-Chick.net. It took a little bit longer to find what I was looking for but that’s OK because I’m very, very content right now. I can’t wait until the second account is setup so I can get all of my clients moved over as well. Unfortunately that went through as an eCheck so there’s a bit of a wait on it, but by Monday I should be able to get back on track with things. Come Wednesday everyone should be completely moved over and that’s just great for me.
As for dieting, I’m off the wagon. I’m on Vacation in New York visiting family and anyone living in New York would know that the amount of yummy goodness in the air is enough to kick that dicipline out the window. I’ve had pizza, I even broke down and picked up something from a local deli. They have a fantastic turkey wrap that I just can not resist. Yes - if it’s done right it’s healthy but you need the mayo, bacon, cheese, salt and pepper or it just does not taste right. I have also blown through my budget for this vacation so I’m back to crunching on veggies for 5 meals a day and tonight I had grilled chicken with some light seasoning - partnered up with tons of veggies on the side so I’m very easily getting back on track - I just had to kick the wagon across the street for a couple of days.
I haven’t lost any weight since my last post, but I haven’t gained any either. I’m maintaining my weight and that’s just as good as losing it. I’ve gotten a few compliments since I’ve been up here - I haven’t seen a few of my friends in well over a year so they were definitely taken back when they stepped foot onto the porch. All I need to do is lose another 40 pounds and I’ve completely met my goal of 100lbs lost. Not too shabby - eh? 50% done! I’m like a download - whee!
I just came across a really cool site that all foodies would absolutely love! It’s called KeyIngredient.com and it’s a digital Food Recipe database where you can find all of your favorite foods made many different ways. I signed up and posted the recipe that I’ve fallen in love with this week. It’s Gillian McKeith’s Shepherd’s Pie. With everyone you post you can pick up a really cool widget to publish it to your blog. I think I’m going to go through my arsenal of recipes and post them all through keyingredient.com so I can easily display them on this blog for all of you.
On a side note, I’d like to say thank you for all of the “Congrats” that I received from my previous post. I didn’t get many comments on the site but I did get quite a few emails asking the “How’d you do it?” question. Eating healthy and stepping up on the exercise are all you really need to do. Dieting is hard but it’s not as evil as everyone thinks it is.
I’ve learned to fall in love with the right foods, and fall out of love with the wrong ones. By cutting out all of the saturated fats, sugars and high carbohydrates - you can really make a difference in not only your physical appearance but how you feel on the inside as well.
I hope to be able to use keyingredient.com to get in touch with many other dieters and food-lovers in general so I can find the best recipes and learn to love the right foods even more.
I’ve only been a member for about a half hour or so (at the time of posting this) but in that time I was able to search for quite a few different tips, tricks and techniques that could really make anyone shine in a healthy kitchen with simple and tasty ingredients.
As I go through the database I’ll share a few more recipes as I try them. This could be a huge addition to the site with just these widgets alone. I’ll still continue to post my own recipes in the regular format though. I’m working on setting up a hack for the blog where you can convert my food related posts to a print-friendly format. That should work out pretty well too.
I haven’t updated in a while, I know. Things have kind of gone full speed ahead for me lately and it’s hard to keep track of all my blogs. I figured it would be easy posting on five but I guess I was wrong.
The diet is going well. I’ve cheated a little but with my craving for coffee later I couldn’t seem to stop myself from going into Starbucks today. It was just a treat to myself so I guess that counts for something. Last night I enjoyed my grilled chicken but I put a little Parmesan cheese on it and sliced it up into a salad. And that’s another thing I’ve been eating a lot of lately - chicken salad. I bought a few cans of chicken from Walmart for Bella and wound up keeping two for myself to throw together with a little mayo and a lot of celery, onion and other fixings to make it tasty. I’ve been snacking on it all week.
I haven’t gone out and purchased Micheal’s plan. I figure at the rate I’m going I should be able to discipline myself enough to get the job done. My big set back right now is the fact that I’m still smoking. I’m not sure how well that’s going to effect me when I do finally quit for good. I’ve heard on numerous occasions that those who quit tend to replace the need of hand-to-mouth with food instead of a cig and that would just be a big set back for me. The thing is, I don’t want to go cold turkey and load up on patches or the gum because while it stops me from smoking it keeps me addicted to the nicotine which in turn would just be pointless. At that point it’s cheaper just to smoke. You’re spending up to $60 a week on Nicorette gum or anything else to subside the smoking feelings and when it turns into $240 a month and you’re still able to quit the $40 a month you were spending on a carton really starts to look much better to your wallet.
I finished dinner a little while ago and I’m still too full for words. Since my father hasn’t had a home cooked meal in quite some time, I went ahead and fired up the crock pot at about 4am in order to start some sauce. Tonight I made lasagna with sausage and meatballs. I was very good at keeping my portions under control. It was hard considering it’s the only thing I’ve eaten today but I woke up about 2pm so by the time 7pm rolled around I was hungry enough to not care that I hadn’t eaten earlier in the day.
Everyone seemed to enjoy dinner, so that’s always a plus. I did sneak in a little bit of bread but when you go out of your way to bake it for everyone else, just a small crusty piece isn’t going to kill you, right? In order to burn off the extra calories I took a few laps around the block with Bella, I then burned even more carrying her home considering her little legs gave out on her. She gets tired if she walks for too long, not sure how that’s possible considering she’s so low to the ground.
Dieting aside, it’s been a fairly calm day. I’ve done some laundry, straightened up the kitchen and cooked dinner. I’ve been unable to work today because Sean has taken captive of my laptop. I’m considering purchasing another one sometime soon, I’m just not sure what company I’m going to go with. I don’t use my laptop for anything graphically anymore because of my new iMac. If I use it for any “big” programs it’s usually Dreamweaver CS3 and having anything less than a gig of ram would be stupid on my part. I did hear, however, that in order to have Vista on a laptop you’re going to have to have at least 2 gigs of ram because Vista takes a gig to run from the get go. So factoring all of that in, i figure I’m going to need something in the $650-$700 range. I’ve been poking around on TigerDirect for a refurb, I’ve also poked around Newegg for a newer one and naturally I’ve been floating around eBay as well. I’ll hold off for a few months, I just know that my laptop is slowly dying on me. The lag right now is extremely annoying and it’s also about 2 years old so upgrading wouldn’t be the worst of ideas.

I’ve been doing well on my diet even though I’m in New York. It’s very hard to eat healthy when you’ve been deprived of good Italian food, as well as good Chinese food. I’ve been eating small meals and keeping my calorie count down pretty low as well. Tonight I had a very well balanced grilled chicken on a bed of greens and while I was using a smaller plate to make it look as though I had more food, I still filled up on lettuce pretty quickly.
Exercise has slowed down a bit, I’m limited to walking around the block and for the past two days it’s been an average of negative two degrees (F) so naturally it’s hard to get any real work out done when you’re having trouble breathing with the thick cold air. I don’t have the luxury of my club house like I have down in Rehoboth. Spending more time standing than sitting and keeping myself busy by cleaning the house is still giving me some kind of activity, so I guess that counts for something - right?
This is my personal weight loss blog. It's used to house my successes and frustrations with losing weight. My goal is to go from 260 to 180. It's going to be a rough road, but I know I can handle it.
